A&D MEDICAL JOINS LEADING HEALTH AND TECHNOLOGY COMPANIES WITH THE CONTINUA HEALTH ALLIANCE TO IMPROVE PERSONAL HEALTH THROUGH CONNECTED DEVICES
MILPITAS, September 27, 2006 – A&D Medical announced today that it has joined the Continua Health Alliance as a Founding Promoter. The Continua Health Alliance is an open industry group formed to establish effective methods of managing health to respond to the rise of chronic conditions and rapid aging population. Continua will establish an ecosystem of connected personal health and fitness products and services, making it possible for patients, caregivers and healthcare providers to more proactively address ongoing healthcare needs.
The Alliance is focused on three major categories: chronic disease management, monitoring the health and healthcare needs of aging people and proactive health and fitness. By enabling a network of readily connected health and medical devices, people with heart disease, diabetes or other chronic diseases will be able to share blood pressure and weight levels and other vital sign information with their doctors.

Products such as the A&D Medical Blood Pressure Monitor and Weight Scale that allow wireless transmission of results made under Continua guidelines will provide consumers with increased assurance of interoperability among devices, enabling them to more easily share information with care givers and service providers.
