Questions
Where
can I find the Instruction Manual for one of these products?
The
Instruction Manual for all Wellness Connected products can be
downloaded from www.LifeSourceOnline.com/devices.
My
device doesn’t work, how can I check to see if it’s
functioning
properly?
The
Troubleshoot document outlines a series of steps that can be taken
to diagnose the problem and provide a quick solution in most cases.
This
document can be downloaded from www.LifeSourceOnline.com/devices
When
does the device offload data to my computer or to
Actihealth.com?
Either
the Wellness Connected application must be running or the
Actihealth.com client application must be running. The blood pressure
monitors
and weight scales attempt to send data every 10 minutes while not
active and if
activated will try to send the data right away. The activity monitor
attempts
to send data every hour while not active and if activated will try to
send the
data right away. The activity monitor waits about 10 minutes after a
previous
successful offload before offloading again in order to conserve battery
power.
I
purchased two or more separate products each with an ActiLink USB
Transceiver. Do I need all of these?
Each
device will come with an ActiLink. One ActiLink can be used for
all Wellness Connected devices no matter which user or account the
device is
registered for. When you first set up the Wellness Connected
application, you
can use any ActiLink on the registration page. If an ActiLink has
already been
registered the application will not request another, even with a new
user
account registration. It is recommend that you keep your extra
ActiLinks. If
you damage one ActiLink or lose it, simply plug in another ActiLink.
There is no
need to register the new link.

Can
I link more than one device of a particular a type to my
Wellness Connected account?
No,
only one device of each type can be connected to a single Wellness
Connected account. For example, you cannot link two activity monitors
into a
single account, but you may create a separate account for each activity
monitor. Actihealth does not have this limitation and you may link
multiple
devices of each type to a single Actihealth account.
I
am looking at my software and taking measurements, why can’t
I see
the new data appear?
New
data is displayed by the Wellness Connected Software and
Actihealth.com only when the page is refreshed. The Wellness Connected
software
screen can be refreshed by clicking any of the items in the top menu or
by
clicking “Update” next to the date selector.
Actihealth.com can be refreshed by
using the refresh button in your browser or clicking on the
“check for new data”
text underneath the greeting message.
Why
does my last offload appear as “---“?
The
last offload is only for the currently registered device. If you do
have not yet registered a device, or have removed a registered device,
the last
offload time will appear as “---“.
What
happens to my data when I switch between the Wellness Connected
software and Actihealth Internet service?
The
Wellness Connected software and Actihealth are completely separate
systems. Any data sent to Actihealth cannot be shared with Wellness
Connected.
Likewise, any data sent to Wellness Connected cannot be shared with
Actihealth.
The devices can only send data to one location, either Wellness
Connected or
Actihealth, and once the data is sent it cannot be shared or
transported to the
other system. If you have been using the Wellness Connected application
and
then decide to use ActiHealth.com, your data will not be transferred to
the
website. Your old data will, however, still be available for you to
view using
the Wellness Connected application. This also applies if you are using
Actihealth.com and decide to start using the Wellness Connected
application,
your data will not be transferred.
What
happens if I have the same devices registered to Wellness
Connected and to Actihealth.com?
If you
decide to register on Actihealth.com/Lifesource you must remove
your devices from the Wellness Connected. Go to the Accounts/Devices
tab. Click
on remove under the device, and then click Save Changes. You cannot
have a
device registered on Actihealth/lifesource and Wellness Connected
because your
data needs to offload to only one location. Leaving your devices
registered in
both locations will cause gaps in data on both applications.
Why
do I receive a warning telling me the Actihealth network client
is running when I try to start Wellness Connected?
The
Actihealth Client and Wellness Connected application cannot run at
the same time. To close the Actihealth network client right click on
the
Actihealth icon in your taskbar at the bottom right of your computer
screen to
the left of your clock and select “Close”. The
network client will restart
every time you turn on or restart your computer. To prevent this, you
must
uninstall the Actihealth network client by right clicking the icon and
clicking
“About”, then press the
“Uninstall” button in the window that appears. If
you
have one person using Actihealth.com and one using Wellness Connected
you will
need to Stop/Start each application when you want your devices to
offload.
What
is the “ActiLink Missing’ warning message telling
me?
When a
member logs in to the Wellness Connected application and there
is no ActiLink plugged in a warning message will appear
“Warning – ActiLink is
Unavailable”. If the ActiLink is then plugged in at that
time, the warning
message does not disappear. Clicking on the HOME button will recheck
for the
ActiLink and clear the message if one is found at that time. The
warning
message only appears on the HOME (Trends summary) page. If the user
clicks on
another page and the ActiLink is not installed the warning message is
not
displayed.

How
do I switch between pounds (lb) and kilogram (kg) units?
The
scale has a selector located on the underside of the display. The
selector is a single gray button and switches between the lb mode and
kg mode.
Changing the units on the scale does not affect the units on your
Wellness
Connected application or Actihealth.com and vice versa. If your scale
is set to
lb mode and your application to kg mode, your scale will display in lb
and your
application will display in kg.

How
is the Activity Monitor different than a pedometer?
Most
pedometers work by using a simple pendulum method of counting
steps. Any slight undulation will cause the pendulum to swing and count
a step.
Because of this, most pedometers are very inaccurate and can easily
mistake
small movements as steps. The ActiPed works by measuring foot contact
time with
the ground. The ActiPed uses a patented method to measure the amount of
time
the foot is making contact with the ground, from when the foot strikes
the
ground to when it lifts off. With some complex algorithms the ActiPed
can determine
distance, calorie burn, activity time, and of course it can count the
number of
steps. Shaking the ActiPed will not fool the device, unlike most
pedometers.
How
do I properly wear the activity monitor?
The
activity monitor must be:
•
TOP-MOUNTED (Not on the side of the footwear or at angle)
•
FLAT against the shoe.
•
SNUG (Should not move freely on the shoe)
Put
the activity monitor on desired footwear prior to wearing so you
can quickly and easily move it to any shoe.
•
If using lace shoes: place clip under as many laces as
possible and
towards the lower portion of your footwear. We recommend at least two
points
where the laces cross for best results.
•
Mount the clip with the OPEN END pointing down TOWARDS the
TOE.
What
type of footwear is best suited for the Activity Monitor?
The
ActiPed can be used on all different types of shoes and sneakers.
The main idea is to be sure that the ActiPed is mounted snug in the
proper
position - Flat on the top of the foot. Additionally, make sure that
the open
part of the clip is facing down towards the toes. Note: Boots without
straps
and laces are tricky. Currently we recommend that you wear the ActiPed
mounted
on the top part/opening of the boot. As a word of caution, the ActiPed
may
capture only about 75% of steps when worn completely perpendicular to
the
ground.
Will
the Activity Monitor work on a bike/elliptical machine/stair
climber?
The
ActiPed will capture activity time with great accuracy, however it
will not capture steps or miles during these activities as they do not
induce
individual foot strikes, as do walking and running. Aerobic activity,
from
elliptical machines, bikes or stair climbers, is captured by the
ActiPed as
continuous activity with extremely low step counts and offloaded to the
Wellness Connected database as such.
If
I go on vacation, will the Activity Monitor capture my activity
even though I’m far away from my computer for weeks?
Yes,
the ActiPed has a good memory. It will remember and store all of
your activity data on average for 21 days depending on how active you
are. A
very active persons ActiPed may hold closer to 14 days worth of
activity
information. With a less active person the ActiPed will hold closer to
30 days
worth of activity information. If for some reason you go longer than 30
days
without offloading your activity information, the ActiPed will
overwrite the
new activity information over the old, starting with the oldest day of
recorded
information.
Is
the Activity Monitor’s battery replaceable?
No,
the battery is not replaceable. Its expected lifetime is
approximately 12 months for a moderately active person. Battery life
can be
observed through the Wellness Connected software or Actihealth.
Is
the Activity Monitor water resistant?
The
ActiPed device is designed to be water resistant and water proof,
up to three feet. They can withstand splashing and puddles, or even
walking on
the beach.
